Prof. Dr. Mario Cools

Mario Cools  holds a master degree in applied economics, major quantitative business economics, minor operations research (University of Antwerp, 2004) and a master degree in applied statistics (Hasselt University, 2005). After obtaining his statistics degree, he started working as a PhD candidate at the Transportation Research Institute of Hasselt University, were he obtained his PhD in transportation sciences in 2009.

Currently, Mario Cools is appointed as full-time associate professor at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of Liège, where he is charge of research domain 'diagnosis and analysis of transport and its externalities' of the research unit LEMA

Prof. Dr. Sabine Limbourg

​

Holding a degree in theoretical physics, Sabine Limbourg began a career as a High school teacher before switching to complete a doctorate in economy and management. At the end of these new studies, she produced a thesis on intermodal transport (rail-route) for which she received two prizes, the Predit prize in Paris, and the Friedrich List Prize in Berlin. 

In 2009, she joined the operations department of HEC-ULg, where, in addition to her research on problems connected with transportation, she gave lectures on logistics. In the context of her research on the loading of commercial air transport, carried out together with, among others, Professor Michael Schyns, she completed a six-month internship at the HEC-Montréal. 

Outside her academic career, Sabine Limbourg is an assessor for the National Agency for Transport Research in France, and is a member of the Management Committee for the Association of Transport Economists for the Benelux Countries
